Number of downloads

Near to impossible to evaluate. Many websites are hosting copies of BurningCD, without giving me back any kind of statistics. My own website distributed over 200,000 copies between 2000 and 2002, with still something like 1,500 monthly downloads in august 2004; Winamp.com shipped over 30,000 copies, Clubic 25,000, WinampFR promotioned BurningCD for a long time but once again, without notifying me on quantities; besides websites such as ZDNet, CNet (download.com) have removed their counters so that I don’t have any clue of how many BurningCD copies they gave away. Not to add the hundreds of personnal websites offering BurningCD to their visitors.

In short, BurningCD met a great success, with probably hundreds of thousands downloads worldwide.

Paper press

Without being always informed, many IT specialised magazine wrote a column about BurningCD. I’ve been notably told of such articles in l’Ordinateur Individuel, Micro Hebdo and some more.

I’ve also signed a dozen of authorizations for CD-Rom shipping, which makes me think BurningCD was present on most computing press titles.
