Here’s the lastest available version of the unofficial FLAC input plug-in for Winamp 5:
This keeps all the qualities of the official FLAC project plug-in, but with full Winamp 5 media library support and a couple of bugs fixes. This is of course compatible with Winamp 2 releases, although of less interrest for versions prior to 2.90.
You may want to have a look at my FLAC encoder for Winamp 5 to rip your CDs into this awesome format.
Testing version for both 2000/XP and 98/ME users
I’ve been reported several issues using the FLAC input plug-in under the Windows 98/ME operating systems. Basically FLAC comments doesn’t seem to show up properly...
I’ve managed to address these problems; according to my own tests, the plug-in now seems to fully work for both 2000/XP and 98/ME systems:
However before wide diffusion, I would highly appreciate if some of you could have a try with it, and report me back the results of their tests. I’m interrested in:
both success and horror stories
tests under 2000/XP and 98/ME
Thanks for your help

v1.1.1
based on official FLAC plug-in v1.1.1

introduced experimental meta-data handling (SourceForge bug #1080821). It allows proper import of FLAC files in the Winamp’s library, mass-tagging and Advanced Title Formatting to work.

Source code
Update: The following source files correspond to my modified plugin v1.1.1. As soon as the testing period for the plug-in v1.1.2 is over, I’ll publish the sources here. Should you urgently require my v1.1.2 sources, simply drop me a mail to get them.
As the official FLAC input plug-in is covered by the GNU-GPL license, I’m publishing the source code of my additions along with the binaries:
It’s to be merged with the FLAC 1.1.1 source package.
The first file in_flac.c is an amendment to fix some old bugs. The other one medialibrary.c is totally new to the project and implements the new Winamp 5 features.
Add these source files to the plugin_winamp2 project, recompile everything and you’re done!
