User guide

Short user guide about using my WMA encoder. It details the different available settings which can be used.

The CD Ripping engine

Before going in details with the Wma encoder, I’d like to make sure you get the right resources to learn how to rip a CD with Winamp. Below are shortcuts to the official manual (don’t worry, these are not 200 pages chapters):
- Ripping CD Tracks to Your PC
- General Preferences: CD Ripping

WMA Standard encoder options

Of all the Winamp encoders I have written, this one must be the easiest to use. In fact, there is a single option which allows you to set the bitrate.

You are certainly familiar with the notion of bitrate, which states how many bits will be used to store a second of sound in the final file. Setting a higher bitrate means bigger files and higher audio quality, and vice-versa.

Stay tuned!
